Nikki and Mark | Vancouver Maternity Photographer
Talk about great timing. I went out to Coquitlam to take the photographs of Nikki and her bump last Saturday and only a week later she gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Maternity photography is very new thing for me – this was only my third session (you can see the previous ones here and here) but i really enjoyed it from the start. I love wedding photography because people are at their happiest and as a photographer it is a privilege to share that day with them and that feeling seems even stronger with maternity shots. All three beautiful ladies I photographed these last few months were glowing with radiant happiness and bliss and yes – it was an honor for me to be allowed to capture those precious moments for them.
Tanya and Dylan | Vancouver Maternity Photography
These photographs were taken only few weeks before Tanya gave birth to her baby boy, Gabriel. We did the first shoot at Tanya and Dylan’s home and the photos turned beautiful and dreamlike in the all white setting of their bedroom. The second set was impromptu – I was doing an unrelated shoot at the studio and called Tanya and Dylan to see if they would stop by for a few additional shots in different settings. I had the sets already prepared and we did the second shoot in less than 15 minutes. Congrats again to Tanya and Dylan on their beautiful new son.
Cassandra and Chris – Maternity Photography
Here is a selection from my first maternity shoot here in Vancouver. We took some shots at their home in Kitsilano and then headed for a walk in the Rose Gardens at the UBC. One of the benches in the garden is dedicated to Chris’s grandmother so we took some photographs there.
Cassandra and Chris are expecting their baby girl any day now. Congrats again and good luck.
Busy week for this Vancouver photographer
It has been hectic here in the DarkoRoom ever since my arrival to Vancouver last month but I guess being busy is good. There are a few new posts for the blog in the making but since I didn’t have time to complete either one of them here is a little peek at what’s been happening these last few days.
I did my first maternity shoot with a beautiful couple Cassandra and Chris, took a portrait of Dr. Deborah Money for the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research, started a gallery of Fine Art prints from my travel photography (there is only one photo in there for now but many more to come) and photographed the very talented musician Jenny Galt. On top of that, together with my creative partner Chico Sousa, I am working on developing a small video production company and we are in the process of making a music video for Jenny. And finally, “Wash Away In India”, the video in this post is made from the footage I shot during my trip to India, it has been edited by Chico and the beautiful song is by Audra Mae.
